Copyright Complaints (DMCA)
Last updated: September 1, 2026
RetroLand respects the intellectual property rights of others and expects our users to do the same. We review and act promptly on valid notices of alleged copyright infringement, in line with Vietnamese law and the principles of the U.S. Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA).
1. About content on RetroLand
RetroLand is a non-profit project that provides an in-browser emulator and online play rooms.
Game titles, characters, artwork, and music belong to their respective owners. RetroLand is not affiliated with those companies.
Games available on RetroLand are licensed titles, works in the public domain, homebrew, or titles the owner has allowed us to distribute.
2. If you are a copyright owner
If you believe content on RetroLand infringes your rights, send a notice to the address below with all of the following:
- A description of the work you believe is infringed (title, owner, and proof of ownership if you have it).
- The location of the material: the specific URL on retro-land.com. A general description may not be enough for us to identify what to remove.
- Your contact details: full name, organization if any, address, email, and telephone number.
- A good-faith statement that you believe the use is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law.
- A statement that the information in the notice is accurate, and that you are the copyright owner or a person authorized to act for the owner.
- Your physical or electronic signature, or that of your representative.
Send the notice to:
- Email: dmca@retro-land.com
- Subject: DMCA Notice – [title of the work]
Notices that are incomplete or appear to be false may be rejected or sent back for more information. A knowingly false notice used to take content down can create legal liability.
3. How we respond
- We receive the notice and confirm it by email.
- We review whether the notice is valid.
- We remove or disable access to the identified material within 48–72 business hours after a valid notice.
- We tell the affected user, when there is one, that the content was removed.
- We keep a record of the request.
4. Counter-notice
If your content was removed and you believe the removal was a mistake or a misidentification, or you have a legal right to that content, you may send a counter-notice to dmca@retro-land.com that includes:
- Your full name, address, email, and telephone number.
- A description of the removed content and where it was located before removal.
- A statement that you have a good-faith belief the content was removed because of a mistake or misidentification.
- Your consent to the jurisdiction of the competent court under applicable law.
- Your signature.
We will forward the counter-notice to the person who sent the original request. If that person does not notify us of legal action within the period required by law (often 10–14 business days), we may restore the content.
5. Repeat infringers
Accounts that are repeatedly the subject of valid copyright complaints may be restricted or permanently terminated, and related content will be removed.
6. Reports from users
If you are a user and you see copyright-infringing content on RetroLand (for example a pirated-game download link in chat or comments), tell us at dmca@retro-land.com or use the Report button. We handle those reports under the Community Guidelines.
7. Disclaimer
This page is general information, not legal advice. Receiving or acting on a request does not mean we admit any legal liability.
