Pulstar is a 1995 horizontal shoot 'em up developed by Aicom for SNK's Neo Geo arcade system. Its pre-rendered graphics and eight demanding stages draw heavily on Irem's R-Type, including a charge beam and a pod attached to the front of your ship that soaks up enemy shots like a shield.
